Default SATA Raid

I know before you say I work in I.T. I should know, But I work with SCSI not fooking SATA.

I am building a cheap server for a back hander. Now I have worked out how to select raid, but it asks for for both raid drives must be on the primary, but how do you do it with SATA cables

Thanks in advance

Don't you do it via the jumper settings on the drive ?
