Default Differences between HP /PS /PK need scientific explanations

A mate tells me that PK/PS are the same and that HP / PK is different

NOW i know for sure PK/HP are the same and that PS is different

anybody got some info for me ?

dont forget about 'CV' as in 2cv = deux cheval

a BHP is the force that allows to pull a weight of 75 kilograms at 1 meter above the ground during 1 second.
This is the scientific explanation for 1 HP.

No mate sorry but you're wrong , in France we got two kind of "cheval" (or BHP for you UK guys) --> the CV (tax power) and the CH (which are your BHPs).
There are the real power CH and the taxes CV. A 2 CV means just that it's 2 CV for TAXES, not for power ! A 2 CV is actually around 18 bhp .

what kind of explanantion do you need you foreign goon?

bhp is an imperial unit for power based on such things as pounds, inches etc.

PS is the metric equivalent and is coming from metres, kg etc.

just to confuse you further, how about kW?
