Default Bt internet problem

We,ve just swapped on to bt broadband
the problem is that if you click onto a thread and there is a link in it
it will open the link and freeze,s up the computor the say,s there is an error??
This has only happened since going onto bt and nothing has been touched on the computor??
A prime example is the mens room on here it will open the thread but not the link??
What are theses firewall things and how do you get rid of them?

A firewall will stop someone hacking into your computer, so let's not bin that Andy

Now, are you using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to browse the net ?

Is it when opening in a new window, or the same window ??

lol @ the crappy brand stuff, I have to agree. A browser that does not quite work yet, and some other bits and bobs guarenteed to crash

The rest is cool tho. Just waiting on the phone to arrive.

i had the same problem a week back... click on a link the computer freeze,s

up only alt-ctrl-delete cures it to get back ...

thought i had caught a virus or trojan prog ...did many scans to no avail

ie trend norton agv adaware ..the full monty ..

TO CURE IT

DELETE ALL YOUR BT SOFTWARE on the pc ..via add/remove

reinstall via the boot disk ..

and it will flying again

i took me 2 days thought it was a virus problem

say if you click on this link below

http://www.google.co.uk/

and the pc stalls thats your problem

its not a fire wall issue its your software

reboot your router too
