so i just wanna get he something to protect himself with as i cant be there for him all the time

As above penalty fr ebing caught with it makes it a bad idea. Get a few mates together and turn the tables on the bullies. Done it when my bro was at school getting picked on by a gang. My brother was more than happy to go one on one but they don't work like that. We turned up outside the school in a transit van full of mates and they gobbed off. Should have seen their faces as the back of the van opened and a group of bouncers climbed out the back. All we had to do was walk towards them and you couldn't see them for dust. They left my bro alone after that.

an old leather watch strap with drawing pins shoved through the strap,then some electrical tape wrapped round the part with the pins poking through to protect the knuckles,

if anyone comes a long its cheap enough to be thrown away.

If you have no leather strap just use cardboard and glue the joins together then bind it with more tape.

wont kill them but will sting for weeks,best avoid the eyes aswell

Pepper spray and CS are classified as Section 5 firearms - plod will jump all over you if you get found with one. Likewise any offensive weapon like knuckle dusters/bats etc. a bad idea.

There are plenty of martial arts that can be good for self defence. I've heard that Krav Maga (an Israeli military technique) is pretty vicious, doesn't mess about with teaching anything other than how to incapacitate your assailant.

TBH if I was him i'd go with a duster of some sort (not feather ) and just take them on, if he gets a beating they won't do it again, if he beats one of them up, chances are the others won't do jack shit. Its life, i'm afraid.. just toughen him up.

tell him to go for the biggest one there and knock the shite out of him. all the other ones will see this and brick it. if that fails, do all of them on seperate occasions.

it might be good for his for this to happen, toughen him up. you can only learn to defend yourself when in a real situation with someone who wants to hurt you.

Surely if he walks the same way to work every day and sees the same group of lads he's just going to make things worse if he uses pepper spray on one of them? Pepper spray will soon wear off and then they're just going to go back after him.

Best thing he can do is stand his ground, get a caribina just large enough to fit over his knuckles and use that as a duster, hit a couple of them with that and they should leave him alone.. Or get a load of his mates together and get them to walk with him. when they see the lads give them a hiding.
