Ok, here goes,,, got told about a money making thing. Buy iraq currency wait for awhile until the country starts trading again and hopefully the exchange rate will have picked up and i will be quids in!!!

Id be suprised if they even start using the same currency again due to all the theft of civilian cash by Saddams Boyos.

If you talk to the squaddies most of them play cards with what is effectively thousands of pounds as its worth piss all, you would imagine they would be in the know I suppose.

No chance mate. My own opinion is there's so much corrupt cash about as said above the currency itself will be scrapped and they'll convert to something else. You also need to bear in mind that the economy and country is in virtual marshal law - how long do you think it'll take to recover ?

Great idea other than the fact its illegal to deface anything bearing the face of the monarch so by definition scrapping the coins would be illegal

I know lots of people who bought loads of iraqi dinah from iraq while I was there. It's a big gamble but IF the country ever gets back to having their own country economy once they sort the oil and terrorists out etc they WILL be quids in big time!! To be fair it is a big 'if' though!! lol. To say the least the place is a S***hole and it's got nothing to do with the wars, it's how they live. It's a complete stark contrast to Kuwait, which apparently has LESS oil reserves that Iraq. Just shows what a corrupt leader can do to a country. The only places that were decent in Iraq were where Saddam lived or stayed, or where his family and friends lived!! Their new currency was printed in england with all the security features that ours have to help stop counterfeit money!!

i know loads of lads that have got literally bundles of iraq currency, they nicked it from iraqis when doing vehicle searchs and confiscated it, its not worth anything yet but they all hope it will make them a nice bit of money in a few years, im going over 2 iraq in july next year and im gonna try bring some back to, id say its worth doing but will take years to be worth anything.
