Hi guys, I found this feature in a recent issue of " @Ford " an internal company magazine we have at Fords. A little feature from a former Ford Boreham technicians at MDV Specialist Engineering. They have developed a Ford Fiesta ST Supercar which rockets to 0 to 60 in an astonishing time of 1.9 seconds-faster than a F1. He currently holds the title of MSA British Rallycross Titleholder. I've still got the issue at home so you can see it for yourself, looks awesome! I'll probably be at Donny Sth, FordFair & TRAX if you fancy a butchers at it. Serious bit of kit! Don't worry about the blue flash by your window. It's just me passing you!!!...lol.

I've heard this rumour before, sure it was something to do with a tyre manufacturer

yes its MDV Specialist Engineering they prep the car for pat doran and have their own test atrip on a disused airfield, it probably wont pull 200mph thought although its pretty awesome

I didn't claim it was faster than a F1! I only repeated what was written in the feature, sorry mate. As I said I'll be at the shows & you can read the feature for youself. Does look awesome, wish it was road legal!...PMSL.

just questioning the facts as put in the mag
0-60 in 0.6 seconds has got to be a misprint
if they said it was doable in 1.9 seconds you'd still get the sceptics, but at least it wouldbe a tad more believeable

dojj, there is a dash after the time, i.e. what he means is "It can do 0-60 in 1.9 seconds which is quicker than an F1 car."

I think you missunderstood it and thought he meant it could do 0-60 1.9 seconds faster than an F1 car.

Pat Doran and the car will be at Ford Fair both on track and on the 0-60 sprint strip.

His best 0-60 time is 1.9, but when we timed it, it 'only' managed 2.73. Though this was on a shite surface and it wasn't Pat driving.

Fudgie begged MDV to let him have a go to see if he could get better times, but they quite rightly told him to fuck right off.

Whats the quickest 0-60 recorded? Will orme's rs200 does it in what 2.8 or something, is that right?

porkie, their ECU is also a data logger, logs everything from steering angle to braking force

and the quickest times they have set were on asphalt, we timed it on concrete and there was not much grip, plus aggressive ALS it just span like a twat. still managed a 2.7 tho with one of the mechanics driving it!

The twin engine Tiger does it in 2.8.... as a car journalist you should appreciate the difference between 2.8 and 1.7 is FOOOOKING HUGE!!!!!!!!

I don't think Pat Dorans car could pull a 1.9 0-60 on any surface at all. Is the data logging GPS linked? or G sensors? or wheel sensors?

1.9 is too fast for me to believe without proof. Sorry!

Don't think its ever gone below 3 on proper Datron gear actually. It is VERY fast 0-60 though

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I just can't see it doing those kind of times. F1 car has millions to billions worth of development on it to get it shifting. A fiesta St with a few grand (in comparison) in my eyes, wouldn't be able to do it.

I'll believe it when I see it though

so, my original point of being a bit spectical about the 1.9 seconds-0.6 seconds 0-60 problems aside (me missing the little - )how fast has this car got from 0-60 then

no doubt it is spectacularly fast, of that there is no question, but those sorts of speeds require a bit more than an air filter and a rolling road tune, even if it is in your spare time at ford

pats car did pull a 1.9 0-60 at brighton speed trials
it had specially designed tyres by Avon

that 1 is RWD with a 2L duratec turbo under the bonnet with
550 bhp, 0-60 in 2.8 i think
