Default Discuss - The world we live in today.

What are you opinions on this.
Certain things make us proud to be "British" or other!
Other things make me personally hate the world we live in.

Children murdered. Children messed about with by sick dirty people.
People stabbed on a night out.
Cities bombed.

Sometimes makes you think what a poor state the world is in.

Proud

My passport is pretty much accepted anywhere.

I don't have to worry about learning another language as English is universal

Because of George Bush, we don't have the stupidest leader in the Western World (close though).

Outside of the cities, we have some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen and our heritage runs through it.

Ashamed
Babies being raped, kids being molested, and the government agency responsible saying, we neglected our procedures, but this has been fixed now, AND THEN IT FUCKING HAPPENS AGAIN.

Car owners being taxed to the hilt because its easy money and the government pandering to the wishes of business interests and leaving them alone when it comes to tackling global warming. Spineless wankers.

What seems to be traditional British values being replaced with more recent British values that seem to have nothing to do with our history full stop and more to do with 20 or so drunk Albanians who illegally moved here.

Political Correctness gone mad. Recent case, the changing of the names of characters in the Enid Blyton Secret Seven and Famous Five books to make them more "normal". WTF is that about, its part of our past culture. Whats next, changing Jesus name to James and calling the disciples "homies"!!!!

Health & Safety executive. Nanny state bollocks. Please wear these protective eye glasses when playing conkers. Absolute toss, we're being over protective, a bit of risk does nobody any harm.

Total reliance on imports. There was a time when Britain could be reasonably self sufficient, now we have pretty much the most expensive utility companies in the world because we rely on a bunch of Russians to provide us with Gas. Plus, we import over 100million gallons of water a year. WE LIVE ON A BLOODY ISLAND FOR GOD'S SAKE, ITS EVERYWHERE.

Tony Blair = Feckless idiot = George Bush (see what I did there )

Rant over, sorry, slow day at work.

Cheers

Matt

because we put up with liars, murderers, corrupt, paedophile policiticans judges and member of Parliament, all protected by there little Judge friends.

Trouble is, no-one gives a toss, as long as it doesn't happen to them. When it does happen to them, it's too late.

Loads but the most prominent one at the moment is the fucking grade A arsehole neighbour who last night beat his girlfriend up with their son in her arms, smashed the neighbours fence up, swearing and shooting his mouth off at anyone and everyone accusing her of nicking his money. Oh, and then throwing a metal bar at one of the neighbours - who had her baby daughter in her arms.

I hope the bastard drops dead, and soon.

I personally believe that the world is in a downward spiral, with only one inevitable end. Therefore my wife and I have decided not to have children, as we don’t want them growing up in a world such as this. This has been our belief for some years now, and we’ve just got on with our lives.

I think it's sad that people are deciding not to bring children into the world because it's going down hill, & fast! I have a 2yr old boy & another on the way & it scares the shit out of me to think what it'll be like for them growing up.
I live in Cornwall, & it's not a quiet, peaceful place anymore!
