I was asked for help with translation of book of puzzles, riddles etc into Polish. I cannot decipher one expression though. Maybe someone could help me? Noone on my MSN contact list could do that. I know it may be yank expression but I still think you might have better chances of getting what it means:


"high-step dyno while bouldering"

as in:

"Solving puzzles requires imagination, visualization, and experimentation. the ones in this book are intended to challenge and delight you. Enjoy them as you would a high-speed windsurfing jibe in the swells, a high-step dymo while bouldering, or a power descent into a lightly forested ravine."


Any ideas what it is about in simpler language?

sounds like climbing talk. bouldering is small rock climbing problems, usually where you use no equipment but someone spots for you incase you fall as your only about 6foot from the floor. A dyno is a move where your hands and legs leave the wall so your in thin air! And i presume by high step they mean that its a big leap!!

Basically i think it means that you should find it mentally taxing but the sense of acheivement once accomplished is unrivaled.

probably what they have already said though, along the lines of giving you a buzz of enjoyment or the like

high step bouldering relates to climbing large boulders, usually only 4 meters from the ground with no ropes.

The problem with translators work is that you sometimes read about things you don't know and sometimes they are very hard to identify. I asked two english native speakers before writing here and they had no ideas too
