Default Escort Cossie question ????

I have just bought a beautiful 1996 Escort Cossie. The seller advised me to use the premium unleaded only, ie super unleaded, optimax etc. I'm not a tight wad by any means but just wanted to know is this necessary for everyday school runs and round the town driving? I would appreciate any comments on this matter.

Is it standard or tuned? It might need the higher ron if it's been tweaked

I disagree...

If you want to avoid the cosworth engine build bill why increase the chances of it blowing up by scrimping on the fuel you use.

Always use super/optimax/ultimate

Only in an emergency would I use somet else and then never ever bring it on boost- ever.

If the previous owner always used SUL, I suggest you use it too. I have always put SUL in mine.
