Been busy in the garden LOL - Stables are up!!
Finally got round to starting the base for the new stables we have ordered, didn't realise how much hard work or expense it would be just to put up six 12ft x 12ft stables and a 12ft x 24ft barn though
Lewis has loved it with the big digger being here, the lorrys taking away 100 tonnes of soil then having 60 tonnes of hardcore coming back!
Spent the whole day yesterday ( Had to be the hottest day of the year! ) marking out the shuttering and getting all the levels right, got two sections concreted now, took 7 cubic metres to do two sections so works out it's gonna be £2000 just for the concrete
Here's some pics of the progress so far if any one is interested LOL

Dont let my missus see this as she is desperate to get a house where she can keep her horse. The stables we are at just now dont give a feck and keep putting the prices up but never spend any money or time doing the place up.
Its looking good, keep the updates coming.

Nice set-up there Gadget
I went through the same, years ago but for only 4 x 12' x 12' and a tackroom. Luckily my ex was a director in his own building company, so it didn't cost me anything. Took an age though, because I had to rely on workman doing bits at a time. I had to wait even longer for a field shelter

Those stables need to be bigger than 12x12 - you'll struggle to get much more than a mini in there!!!
Besides, horses are meant to live outdoors, otherwise they would drive about in Transits and build houses themselves!!!

Cheers for the comments people, still loads to do but getting there!! already put one 12 x 24 barn in here but have filled it up already bought this place in january and just seem to be paying out non stop so far 9k for the menage, 8k for the new stables, 5k for the other bits ready for the stables, 1k for the fence and gates around the menage and the list goes on!! still to put our new kitchen in, get both living rooms and the dining room plastered etc etc,
Iain Mac, there was a nice garage here 23 x 23ft but weve converted that to a seperate living area also!!but there is still room and plans passed for a 38 x 13 garage which will do me ( when everything else is sorted!! )
More cement coming tomorow so will be boring and put a couple of new ones up
Wes, yeah, my old garden was 20 x 20 so i know how you feel! still managed an escort cos, 8 x 6 shed, patio and bit of grass though

Hi all, yep, i'll be posting some more pics as we go!
Will, he's been good, keeping out of the way, just looking!!
Pete, down to two horses now ( which is 2 too many if you ask me! ) Had 5 at one time and was a nightmare, down to two so we will have room for a few livery's and a couple to break in / school to sell!

Woohoo, update time!
The stables are up and the horses trying them out tonight! Jut got another 55 posts to concrete in now and 70 rails to put up and the fencing is done, Still got to run power and water to them but to say we are pleased is an under statement! All the hard work and money spent is starting to actuall show now!
What do you think?

Lucky bastards, how jealous am I!
Your set up looks fantastic. At least you can rent the other stables/paddock out and get some income back from them. Don't even have a manege where we are, so deprived!

well, we are down ( i say we, i've got no interest at all in them! ) to 2 horses now that Hayley show jumps, and the other 3 that are here are here friends, 2 of which hayley also jumps and the other is a tiny pony, The idea is for us to get Horses bought over from holland, bring them on, get them broke in ( which hayley does herself ) get them out jumping and sell on at a profit ( hopefully! ).
we will be sorting out getting some over soon so hopefully start finally get some money coming in for once
