whats happened to it......these days your lucky to see 10 motors there... i remember a couple of years ago,you couldnt park in the place!!!!!!!!!!!whats happened to it??why did it take a turn for the worst,and why did the ONCE A YEAR FORD SHOW stop there?????????? ive never found out the answers to these questions and would love to find out why,and what would need to be done to get the fire burning bright again,as there are plenty of rs's floating about in the area

It used to be a very good show, displayed my car 4 or 5 times and won best car on stand twice as well

I think the show was stopped because someone was doing donuts in the car park and smashed into a few cars not sure if this is the real reason.

Thing is,unless people ARE TOLD ABOUT THE DATES THAT ITS ON.....how are we meant to know if it is on.im positive that it could be reborn.....

as to the comments regarding he donut situation,i remember hearing about someone who did it,but no cars was hit.unfortunately we see this thing from time to time where someone has to go one step too far!!!! Closing the whole thing down due to this is madness though!!!!!everyone else suffers..........and half of them obviously havent been given resons to the closing down!!!!!!!!!

not to sound like im being funny......but if he was trying that hard to get it going.....then surly he would have put posts up on the major FORD FORUMS and ford mags to spread the word

i just get so dissapointed when i turn up to see 6 cars knowing how lively it used to be.

its time to revive it before its too late and all the old fords die

I'm there every month, there are very few people attending these days, sometimes as few as 3 of us but this months meet was reasonably well attended. I would very much like to see this meet get back on it's feet and we are very grateful for the support of people from other regional groups who attend and give their support (always good to see you Dave and Helen) We as a group have attended lots of shows but turnout is sometimes low, so what is really needed is more support and if anyone would like to attend you are most welcome. Feel free to pm me if you would like to know more.

the show was cancelled last time because of a problem with advertising & a few other issues, i think another big reason is that Mark who started the & used to run the Middx group had an issue with the RSOC & he started to loose intrest after putting a hell of a lot into the club over the years. It got to the stage where no one would even be there to open the club house, then because the old skool Ford night started at the Ace cafe on the same night as the Middx meet a lot of people went to that instead, Mark handed the club over to Lance who then changed the night so as not to clash with the Ace cafe meet, then the staines rugby club started a venue on that night so the date was changed again, it is now on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. I have not been to the last few meets for various reasons but i will be attending again soon
Lance is still the club chairman & has been putting in the effort trying to get things back to how they where, thanks go out to him & 'Bobby the dong' & Chris 'the bear' & all others who have helped out.
rightstuff if you & your buddys start turning up to meets again & other people follow suit the club can start getting back on its feet!

i will be there......I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO START SPREADING THE WORD MATE

there seem to be a lot of people out there who would love to see the meet return

and ace cafe's ford meets are over now/shut down,so there will be a lot of people wanting a perfect excuse to get the ppolish out on a week night

IT can be revived,people just need to know the details..........might be worth contacting the ford mags to let them know the details,and to slap it in their news section!!!!! the more the words spread,the better

(just dont tell the chav boy racers cos they ruin everything!!!!!!!)

from what i heard the shows were stopped because of "internal differences" which could mean just about anything
and this seems to be backed up by what guzzler has posted

it used to be a great little show (have you been to any other show where they raffle off times for how long an engine will last without oil/water?) and it was the very first show i attended way back in 98

i would have gone to the last pub meets but i haven't seen any posts about it so i haven't gone (obviously)

if there can be a dedicated time slot, like the replacement for the ford night at ace ever second monday of the month or something, i'm sure it would take off
any chavs turning up would soon be fooked off because they'd stick out like sore thumbs

Come to the show a few years ago and was one of the best small shows i have bean to would be nice to think you could get it up and running again would put it on my show list

ace was stopped because the cafe owners didn't want to be seen to be encouraging the numpties who were driving like idiots round the roundabout outside
the police would have had a bit of a hand in it as well
do a search and you'll find lots of posts about it, even some video of the antics

as for the rugby club meet, it's closer than the one im going to tonight so i wouldn't mind popping along to it

best way to get others down there is turn up and be part of the show im hearing there a bbq there tomorrow monday the 29th of aug its an early meet as its a bank holiday around 2pm ish keep an i on this post as soon as i know i'll post an add out to inform you guys/girls weather its on or not ..

But as Im never one to miss a avertising plug ,its on TODAY at staines RFC as usual and as you can see the Group is doing fine now and our resident celeb Tanwar will be showing us all how to dance
