All the countries that have recently joined or are scheduled to join the EU are a good investment at the moment. I was lucky enough to get a tip about some flats in Praque just over 4 years ago and bought 3 for peanuts (massive 3 bed flats in the old city for 18k a pop)....I so regret not buying a dozen like my contact did and advised me to do as they are worth 140-180k each now

Except Bulgaria isn't cheap anymore.

The out of town flats as holiday homes can still be bought up, but so many big companies are relocating offices to the eastern block direction that flats are recketing up in value.

Plus, it's all investment at the moment - struggling to see how the properties will rent well, unless you did as Cam did and got a city centre place early, or you're near to the ski resort.

fair play,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but get back to pricing the tank for me

now back to the cheap locations,,,,,,,,,, i dont wanna hear about people making a killing on property as mines worth 3 times what i payed for it and my old man bought a 4 bedroom council house for 10k back in 87 1/2 mile from kings cross and he wont give any of that to me either so it dont interest me

this is not for a property development btw ,,,,,, just a family crash pad for throw away money

if you can get one for £20k, surely itd only increase in value, even if you have to wait 20+ years before you sell...

and if i was you id go on holiday first to see if you like the place, just a day or so isnt long enough really

gareth i have NO loans and no debts as such so i just spend the cash,,,,,, i can spend 100 quid on a sunday,,,,,,, infact i do that every sunday and then i got nothing to show for it

paying another 100 quid a month for a family retreat is jsut money i would spend anyway

i dont put 300 quid a month away to invest for the future and the only investments ive got is a isa ive had for 5 years now at 80 quid a month thats matured,,,,,,,,,,, 2 years ago and not made its target,,,,,,,,, aint that a suprise and my pention of 100 quid a month that ive had since i was 18

so as far as the fture goes im not gonna be that bad,, ok i aint got a pot to piss in now but i enjoy my life and dont over live my means with loans ect so i HAVE to work ect,,,,,,,,, but i do have to work as im far from a rich man and still a pikey

but i do spend ALL my spare cash by payday,,,,,, or if i dont the missus helps me

ive wasted more than 20k in the last few years and to me it seems like a idea i can afford to do and not worry about

i agree with what jock says

if i bought a flat for 20k and sold it for 20k in 20years time and a can of coke was still 50 p ect the tbh i would STILL be happy

hell i bought a car for 450k, spent in total with running costs and fuel ect another 9k MIN

id still be happy if i got 4k back

Bulgaria still has its opportunities.

3 years back a good friend bought an apartment off plan for £10k, once built (9 months later) that was sold for £75k, 4 more properties were bought off plan on phase 3 of the development and sold on completion, He now has in excess of 12 properties that owe him nothing,
And has recently bought in Croatia, Riga ans is looking at Bratislava all from the profit of a gamble 3 years ago.

Look at Bratislava and Morocco for future investments
