How hard is it to get parts for racing pumas?
how much of them are standard 1700 parts.

as i've been told they use quite a few 909 parts? (driveshafts, suspension etc) so is it gonna be like buying spares for an RS500 or
rouse sport!? lol

i might go and look at number #226 on the weekend
and just wondered about parts.

They can be a bit of a bastard, but Pumabuild have a fairly steady supply of bits

Speak to Alan about whats involved in ownership if you have any doubts.

Not the cheapest car to run tho.

Best way to think of it is as it was originally, a low volume £23k coupe.

all ford employees got a email from there headoffice last week with a updated price list off all unique racing puma parts, ive still got the list and can do you a copy if you wish


prts arnt cheap though,,,,,,, especially the wings at 795 quid each side

i did spot that last night and nearly fell off my chair

also heard stories that pumas dont like starting when they are hot!? lol
front brakes sqeel is almost incurable!?

engines are Not re-buildable!?

Not sure about hot starts
Squeel can be cured, usually the brakes need servicing because they are an open design with no dust seals, again an expensive service item. Engines are rebuilable, dont worry about that

Get as low mileage as you can tho. I hear the 1.7vct doesnt like much above 80k without some TLC

Best way to go is to ditch the stupid ALCON brakes and get a brembo conversion, will save you expensive services over the years..lol

Fucking fantasic cars tho, so much better to drive than the stats say on paper, awesome, awesome handling and to be honest, the only reason it hasnt got an RS badge is because of Fords marketing policy at the time of release and it's target buyer, after all it was a £23k coupe lol
