Was it just a regular DVD or are the new HD copies of films out?

I am wondering tho if it's worth doing anything about this HD DVD stuff, or waiting to see what the outcome of the HD DVD / BluRay thing...... Bit of a pain in the ass if you go and buy a HD DVD player and a bunch of HD DVD releases, and THEN find out it's all going out the window in favour of BluRay....

I am beginning to think tho, that with all this new format bollocks coming out and not knowing whats gonna be what, the way forward (or possibly the way around lol) might be to go with a powerfull Media Centre PC and go for HD WMV - the few trailers I have seen for HD WMV have been STUNNING.....

I thought that in the mastering of the Goodfellas HD DVD they would have repaired the infamous damaged negative scene that Scorcese insisting on including as it was De Niros best take but its still there and more noticeable with the increased definition

At 1:16 38-43 seconds in Goodfellas a slight little line is right down the middle of the screen in a shot of Robert De Niro. This is chapter 27, when Paul Sorvino, Pauley and De Niro come to Ray Liotta's mistresse's apartment to straighten him out about her.
It's dead straight and very light little line for that 5 seconds. The shots are moving back and forth between the 3 guys. Next time it goes back to De Niro, it's gone.
Its on every release since the movies theatrical debut and is a known flaw in the master negative.
