Default Fitting Green Induction Kit

Hello,

I've just come over from www.ffoc.co.uk through recommendation of other members and thought I might just give you peeps a shout regarding fitting a Green cone to my 1.8 Zetec.

I bought it off ebay and it comes with the oil breath pipe cone, however this does not fit straight onto the cylinder head outlet so I decided to use the pipe that used to run to the bottom of the airbox, with it dangling down near where the airbox used to be.

However, since I have put it all together, and although the sound is amazing, when I change gear, mainly in 4th, the engine idles a lot more and kicks out loads of black smoke.

Is there something I am doing wrong that I'm missing or do you recommend resetting the ECU?

Cheers

Chris

p.s nice site

You can either put your oil breather pipe into the bottom of your filter like the K&N design or get one of those breather filters with the right end from maybe halfords

And yes reset your ECU

TBH not too sure why you are just getting the black smoke to reset your ecu disconnect your battery ideally over night, then re connect it, just make sure you know your stereo code

If you still get the black smoke put your standard filter box back on to check to see if you still get the smoke

Thanks,
I've put the standard box and filter back on and it's fine

Doesn't black smoke mean it's not getting enough air?

I left the air flow meter on the main pipe etc so maybe that's getting confused
