go for a evo, one of my mates had a classic MY99 an he blew it up twice in the same year, both were fixed under warrenty, he then sold it onto a mate an it blew up again, this hasnt stoped him buyin another 2 tho, some people like them others dont, the choice is yours

I must admit I am leaning towards an EVO, especially now I've read all the negative posts for the Scoob I think pretty much everyone is in agreement that the P1 looks well but at the end of the day, what good's that if it's sat on your drive with a fooked engine This Evo 7 has got me I must admit, just how I'd want one TBH

I'd have the EVO every time.

However, the slating of the scoob is a little unjustified.

A lot of problems tend to be caused by the owners - I've lost count of how many times Scoob owners have put oiled filters on their cars, against Prodrive recommendation - IIRC, Prodrive recommend an ITG panel ONLY and supply it in their PPP upgrade packs.....

Plus those running their imported STIs on 95 RON and going on flat out top speed runs..........

Scoobs with chocolate engines? Pund for pund, I bet more cossie engines have let go more often........

Ever been down the pod and got that stench of clutch up your nose??? 6/10 its from a scoopy...!!!! ( saying that 4/10 are evo's.!! ) Having driven both toys, i must admit the evo has my vote.. theirs not much between them in speed but the evo has the cornering mastered.! ever thought in trying a wrc 205 gt4? They can run pretty much standard all day at 300bhp.!

P1 for me - surely they're no more unreliable than a Cossie? Piston failure was a common problem with them though.

How about a poll?

I've never been in a P1 either. I'd personally prefer the exclusivity of the P1. Also, i'm not a massive fan of the Evo 7's styling. 5's are the best, then 6's.

I did half consider a Tommi but when you sit in one then sit in a 7,8 or 9 straight after, the Tommi almost feels pre-historic compared

any jap stuff has got a crap interior but the seats in the p1 are far nicer from the looks of it the engines scare people, one weak point i know of is the maf sensor it killed my engine (type r lightwieght jap p1) but with good mapping can out last most engines acceleration is stupidley fast in mine. too many evos poping up the p1 one is the rs500 of the scoob world origanal and the best! jap one accelerate faster tho

I had a Greedy Boost Gauge, a Phoenix Gold digital voltage meter direct from one of the amps in the boot and moulded a tweeter onto the bottom of the pillar!

Car was running Gems management (als etc), tubular manifold etc etc..!

I have got Defi BFs (boost and oil temp) in mine and the tweeter was already in the pillar pod that I got.

Both original pillar pods on the car have the tweeters as standard. The gauges are mounted on a pod that I got from Gaz@CPP - he supplies them with or without the tweeter.

New, they are expensive, but I hit lucky, someone had just posted them for sale on MLR together with the Defi control unit and GReddy oil adaptor plate and I got them all for less than £300

I had already been in contact with MikeR about getting new from him, so when I saw those advertised, literally minutes after the guy had put the ad on.... I snapped them up
