Default Gearknob question

Ok mk5 Escort

Lift up reverse

i want to remove the gearknob to fit a new gater

any ideas how it comes off

For some reason we have an idea that they will only remove if you bust it off

any help apreciated

it should just unscrew off mate, it did on my mates scort, it was a mk5b so dont know if theres any difference

Some of them pull off, but you have to really pull hard. I'd try pulling it first because i've heard uf you try & unscrew the pull off type uts possible to damage something

dont the pull of ones have a plastic clip inside the knob? you yank the knob off then cut the plastic bit away?

if like the es cos, it shoud just pull off and leave just the metal lever with a cut out in it shaped like a letter U.

if you twist it you will fook up the knob.
