hi all i havnt been on before just signed up .
i have a 1990 saff 2wd i have just replaced the turbo as it was smoking on overrun and using oil,this is now solved,but the car now smokes on boost and when revved hard it bangs like hell,could it be massivley overfuelling or timing retarded ,as it also smells very rich of petrol.any help much appreciated.

Sounds like it is overfuelling....get it set-up by a good tuner asap or it will be a new engine time

what boost is it running as if its it over boosting the your going to have problems as the map sensor i think is only upto 1 bar

i think i have found the problem a small multi plug next to the dizzy was very loose and arking a little it was cutting power to the pump i have secured this and the smoke has stopped and the car feels to run a lot smoother,does this sound like the cure ,i will still get the car set up though as it could have altered the fuelling.thanks for the replies guys .
