Normally Aspirated beats turbo same with roughly same power
Also power to weight ratios gotta be considered lol

Is the other way round, as a turbo engine will usually have much more torque like for like power levels).

I think that tells you more about the "claimed" power levels than anything else .

Also FYI, an E46 M3 will only get up to 149mph within the confines of Bruntingthorpe, so Dave needs to beware of certain Beantins .

right, ive just come across a e46 m3 cab on the m621 lol, let him get in front of me and dont know wether he had the edge in putting foot down sooner but he was pulling away from me in 5th gear from 70 to 100

wasnt pulling a lot but it was getting away from me lol

Cant help myself....

90+ my FRS stayed with an E46 tilll past 140, I put a thread up about it a few weeks ago and caused all sorts of stupid arguments, the fact remains tho. So IMO a stg.3 Saff should be as quick if not quicker.

I'll get me flameproof overalls...



P.S. If anyone camping at Croft fancies a demo, gimme a shout before I start on the beer on Saturday(you'll have to be bloody quick tho)

fair play.

Im just going on my own experience from owning a stg 3 esc cos and a 440 brake one

stg 3.. i reckon the M3 I have now would rape the esc cos..

strange because when i had the esc cos and I had a tear up with a joyridden M3... i held it at bay..

but that wasnt a top speed dual.....

About the 155 limiter, I read on an M5 forum that if you go past 155 in fifth then keep going the limiter doesnt work, thats how these blokes are doing 180 in their M5's.

I would hope it'd be higher than that as the E36 3.0 did 162 tested. Speedos seem to be oddly accurate to the point of the limiter when tested by Autocar was 158mph, which is strangely where mine kicks in on the speedo

my wagon does 56mph then the limiter stops the fun apart from when im coming home from a nightshift,the fuse comes out
