Default computer people, graphics cards

ok thought id post in here as it will get seen more than in i.t section.

Anyway basically my pc has onboard agp graphics BUT i just want to get a half decent card as when i upgrade to windows vista this will be the only thing letting me down and i wont be able to run all the features, so im going to get a 256mb card.

Now ive been led to belive that it isnt just a case of getting any card thats AGP?

Pc in question is a celeron 2.6GHz, 1 gig ram

Get an NVIDIA 265 meg card off www.ebuyer.com m8.

Remember, at the moment most componants will run on windows xp drivers, and hopefully, Vista will support these drivers. If not, we're all fooked

just had a radeon x800 pro off ebuyer

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/74745

Just noticed they have put the price up though i pad £90 inc vat now £103

Good card for the old AGP if your gonna spend anymore money though its time to think of a full mobo upgrade and pci-express etc

Cheers

Matt

windows vista needs minimum 128 card for some of the fancy features, so having a 256 would make it that little bit sweeter plus it would be able to go to higher settings id imagine

they dont need a 128mbn ccard, they just say that as most of the cards that have 128mb meet a certain minumum spec.

its not actually the memory that matters.

ps the X800 and the 9800 are the two "top" AQGP cards from ati/nvidia

i personally run a 9800GS and can't fault it
