i think a modified cossie with the things ive mentioned isnt slower in a corner then an m3...
Modified with new suspension that knocks the geometry right out when its lowered due to how cossie suspension works, giving it loads of toe out on the rear that makes it handle even worse than standard, and trying to compete with cars like M3s running decent 255 wide tyres when your running 205 wide Nangkangs.

Yeah, shithot

I have to concur, most 2wd Cossies handle like a piece of shit with comical rear bump steer. Well chosen mods and they do become a weapon though (shame most people think a well chosen mod consists of "slamming it to the ground - wicked innit" ) . Mine was awesome with 385bhp (500bhp was a bit too much for the chassis without slicks on the rear, but still great fun).

SUSPENSION:
Front:
Independent by LEDA adjustable 2˝" coilovers with 400lb springs. Macpherson struts, three-door Cosworth hubs and track control arms, set to 2° negative camber, 0" 20' toe in. Standard 28mm anti-roll bar with polyurethane bushes and GGR Grp A three piece strut brace.
Rear: Independent, by semi-trailing arms, LEDA adjustable 2ź" coilovers with 200lb springs and Escort Cosworth 22mm anti-roll bar. Ream beam replaced with an Ahmed Bayjoo modified (Grp A) 6°
item, rose jointed and fully adjustable set to 1.5° negative camber and 0' 0" toe. Polyurethane rear axle bushes and Sparco rose jointed rear strut brace.

Rear bumpsteer:
Bump
60mm - 0.030" toe in
50mm - 0.023" toe in
40mm - 0.015" toe in
30mm - 0.009" toe in
20mm - 0.005" toe in
10mm - 0.003" toe in
0.0mm - 0.000" toe in
Droop
10mm - 0.001" toe out
20mm - 0.002" toe out
30mm - 0.003" toe out

To be honest, the spring rates were too harsh for bumper back roads, but on smooth A-roads / track, it was awesome . On my Escort, I have softened the spring rates off, which although compromises it a little on track, it is awesome on the road and round the Ring .

i have to get a 'proper' stage 3 now then

mine feels a little slow now

will get it back in one piece, then more boost (and breakages )

Glad you are happy with the M3 dave. Awesome machine.

i would have got the convertible though, if you gonna pose, you may as well do it properly

Intersting stuff Mike How do you think it would compare to the likes of evo's and Scoobys around a track with the above setup?

Rich,
You'd need much more aggressive geometry, some VERY good tyres and AP brakes, but I think it would certainly surprise a few people .
