Default Kent Cams update

just incase anyone cares :P

ive had the cams inspected by newman cams, and they inspected a lobe on each cam to see if they were different.

looks like they should be ok as a set, there wasnt anything glaringly obvious with them.

however the profile they had on them was so mild, that they werent even "warm road" let alone "fast road". Basically theyre not fit for purpose even if they did work ok in the engine. anyway it looks like the chances of getting any money out of kent in the way of a refund etc. is slim to none, so im just going to cut my losses on the subject.

after much discussion with newman on what i wanted to acheive with the engine etc. i'm not going to be using them for another cam regrind. so i gotta get hold of some std cams again (i have a set in my blown up engine) pop em up to newman, and they can give me a proper fast road profile, pushing the power higher up the revrange so my 24v will actually breath above 5k

Are they based locally? I'm sure my dad used them for his Westfield cams and he was pleased.

Good luck.

IF you are still considering going forced induction at a later date, then make sure the extra poke they give you on the new cams is from more lift not more duration, otherwise you are going to run into too much lift on overlap (althouhg obvioulsy with verniers you can dial some of that out)

I think you need to pick a FINAL spec for the engine that you are building towards, rather than keep going off at random tangents.
