URGENT help please (zetec cambelt)
Hi all i've just had a phone call from my mate who is trying to change the cambelt on his mk5 escort xr3i asking me how to set it up,
Thing is i've never done one before on a zetec so i cant help, He said to me there are no markers on the crank pulley to set it to so i'm really stuck and can't help him as i thought there were markers you had to line up like on a cvh but as i say i don't know so i'm stuck,
Any help would be really appreciated cheers, Grant

there is a small notch on the Bottom pulley, and a small plate that sticks out that you have to line it up with............
the cams have slots in so you slide a piece of steel thru the slots to keep
the cams in line...
the cam pulleys are not held in with anythign but the bolts, so you can loosen them if you need to, keep the bottom pulley in line and tension the belt,
tighten the pullys and tensioner back up.. and away you go...
Its easy the 3rd time you do it

Thanks people thats a great help, he's done that but he says he daren't start it untill his mate goes up with some timing gear tomorrow,
