NcPikie,
Sorry, just a little bit off topic
While all those tunes we're happening, there was a huge underground scene here in the UK (and USA), people craved non comercial quality cuts that the specialist DJ's would import and play.......
It became known as the Soul/Jazz-Funk Scene - It was huge, with all-dayers & all-nighters all over the UK.
You may reconise some of these artists, but maybe not the tunes....... All of these tunes were HUGE in clubs all over the UK, but were very rarely heard on the radio at the time.
Loleatta Holloway - Hit & Run
Grace Jones – Pull Up To The Bumper
Intrigue - Fly Girl
Archie Bell - Dont Let Love Get You Down
High Fassion - Feeliing Lucky Lately
Funk de Lux - Tender Lovin
Change - Hold Tight
Curtis Hearston - I Want You All Tonight
New York Skyy – Lets Celebrate
Sylvester – Give It Up
Revelation – Good Vibrations
Main Ingreediant - Evening Of Love
Chi-Lites – Changing For You
Oliver Cheatham – Saturday Night
One On One – Body Music
Cashflow - Mine All Mine
New York Skyy – Show You The Way
B B & Q Band – Dreamin / On The Beat
New Jersey Connection – Love Don’t Come Easy
The Band AKA - Joy
Brooker Newberry III – Love Town
Kashif – Stone Love
North End – Tee’s Happy
Tina Marie - I Need Your Lovin
Crown Heights Affair - You Gave Me Love
Glynn Jones - Your love
Groove Theory - Lift Off
Bridge - Baby Dont Hold Your Love Back
Aretha Franklin - Integrity
Instant Funk - Got My Mind Made Up
Jean Carn - Was That ll It Was?
Phillis Hyman - You Know How To Love Me
