Hygroscopic unlike Dot 5. Means it absorbs moisture from the atomsphere unlike 5.

Do you use the car on the track???

I use different fluids in the front and rear lines

DOT4 synthetic racing up front, and any old DOT4 /5 for the rears lol

Gets changed after every 3/4 events

Wrong way round chap - DOT 5 = silicone - compressible so you will get a spongy brake pedal and as it is not hygroscopic water collects in pockets meaning you will get vapour lock (bad) with hard driving after a while

Dot 5.1 is normal fluid and is better imo for road cars.

Dot 5 was developed for military vehicles and not extreme braking.

Castrol SRF is best if you can afford it

Yes you're right.........I really should have looked at the bottle in the garage instead of trying to remember

and again from the performance wet/dry boiling figures, Castrol SFR does out on top......

But still expensive
