Whats an R5 Gordini (mid engined one) worth?
NOT a for sale post, in fact quite the opposite my mate has found one for sale and we're tempted by it.
Its pretty sound, few minor issues but nothing too major.
Is this the collectors item im assuming it is or are people so sick of buying 6-packs of head gaskets they wouldnt want it

is it a gordini or a turbo II
as far as i am aware the godini is front engine
and the original turbo and turbo II are rear engined and worth lots of money

A gordini is front engined.
Londitudley mounted but FWD.
Suck-thru carb on em
Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo2s are the mid engined ones with mechanical fuel inj.
Both use the better crossflow heads rather than the GT Turbo style heads.

Turbo2's rock, and the last 'good' one i saw for sale was Ł15k
something of a collectors item though, rather than buy it and thrash it round a track which would be the best thing for it

Hmm, thats interesting, sounds like i will need to get a look at it then as obviously cant be as described, its one of these "my mate's mate has it" type affiars so will probably end up being some ex grasstrack car or something, lol
Cheers for the advice peeps, will see if i can get a viewing as its only local anyway.

If its a Gordini Turbo (ie the FWD oldest shape Reno5's) and cheap (they not worth much anyhow) let me know, even if its a bit of a nail, as ive always wanted one.

A friend of mine bought a project for 3k, 10k for a good car, 15k for a mint, and no one pays 20k
All of them are way overpriced for what they are..
Perceived value shouldnt be any more than 7k imo
