If the head is not fully screwed, I'll offer to have it refaced for you, all you have to do is get it to Wokingham or the BUll at Arbourfield on PF night.

Testing the future
as has been said, would love to help someone out, but where do you draw the line?
i had to have a complete set of new valves, new head gasket, head skim etc recently. i've got to change my block sometime cos it's got a crack in it. nobody is helping me out.
when you buy these cars, it's in for a penny, in for a pound.
sorry maria, nothing against you. hope you get it sorted soon. and well done to those who are charitable / wealthy enough to help you out the community spirit on here is a wonderful thing

I am keeping an eye on this thread and Maria is fully up to date, she is unfortunately at work and cannot see it herself, but i am updating her regularly, she has asked me to pass on her thanks for all your kindness and will be in touch later

Thing is though do u need em maria!? did sheady just say it needed a bottom end refresh!? in which case am sure the tuners on here could source bearings, rings, gaskets etc cheap enough & then brom can get to work!

I think we need to wait a bit until Brom has the engine out of the car & dismantled. Then Brom can give us a lowdown on whats needed for the rebuild........
At that stage we can all hunt round/call in favours/donate parts etc that are required........
Does that make sense?

if am doing it i will do it right

Brom
My guess is that it will only require a rebore and a set of pistons at worst case,
If its all apart it would be a good idea to chuck in a new set of bearings too, it had a new oil pump when the sump was off (Over £200 )
