Default Look at this new AFR kit i have

Snap on have loaned it me for testing

Its essential a hand held 5 gas analyser the size of a multimeter!!

Heres a few pics to show its size and use etc...

Its magnetic based too so can be stuck onto things for stability

Best of all is teh printer, its battery powered and infa red.. just point and press print and out comes your before and after emissions sheets...

Will be trying it out with boost on teh road later, see how she likes real EGT's

foreigneRS,
how can you say that? do you know if it's accurate at all?
Its made by Sun so its a damn good chance of being superb
Il be testing it back to back with my Ł6K ecm unit so time will tell.. i have very strong reservations about its pump speed and time delay TBH..

Everyone takes things so literally! FFS!

I was just stating that----
IF IT IS AS GOOD AS STU MAKES OUT IT MUST BE A QUALITY BIT OF KIT!

As for SNAP ON im sure it is a quality bit of kit!

Untill you test it yourself you will never be able to brand it good or bad!

ALL YOU CAN DO IS GO BY OTHERS EXPERIANCE

(AS LONG AS THEY ARE FIRST HAND AND NOT JUST PASSED ON DOWN THE LINE LIKE WHISPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

NOW GO AND BITE SOMEONE ELSE!

Beat ya by about 1min there pal

My Souriou bench is the same with approx 3seconds, and even that would be fooking useless at 3000rpm in 3rd eh Karl? I feel this kit will only be good for assessing whether a fault exists under normal low load conditions and workshop loads etc etc...

Incidentally.. for the uninitiated..
My ECM mapping AFR kits response time is <150ms

My bank manager's response was somewhat more delayed.....

Absolutely Stu, within 3 seconds we're completely through 3rd gear and still waiting for any results to tell us how stupid we were to do that without any live feedback PMSL

Sample time mate..
Refresh rate every 1 second

Time to draw sample from tale to unit... 20seconds

I think the scenario i described earlier is very apt for this unit.....

were through 3rd gear and sat at the side of the road in a steaming pile of shite, awaiting confirmation that it was indeed leaness that just blew no 3 to fook

MOT tests probably - car can be left running for 10 minutes if need be to get a steady reading...

We use a Kane machine which is in a very similar vein, but the same sample time issues are present, the sample pump used is never going to be able to draw through 15ft of pipe in any sensible time for on-road use
