Default BIG changes ahead for me!!!

As some of you may know for the last 5-6 years or so I have built and run my own business. A business I never planned to run till I retired, from day one the business plan suggested a sale at some stage

Well a few weeks ago a deal was sealed with a guy who wanted to buy it as a going concern!!!

sooooo.... job hunting time ensued, not a prospect I was looking forward to, with not actually having to apply for a job and interview for some 10 years-ish LOL (I was headhunted into the last job I had )

Weeeeellllllll.... After a little thought and some work on my CV I managed to get two interviews lined up, one selling VWs (over an hour from my home) and the other selling Land Rovers and Range Rovers (15-40mins from home ), the latter had a FAR better salary too

I had an interview with VW, which IMO was Shit... then the next week and interview with the L/R dealer, I didnt really expect much from it and really just went along for a little interview experience.. I walked away with the feeling it went VERY well expecting, (as discussed) to hear within the next few days once they had finished interviewing all applicants, they called me 2 hours after the interview and asked me to come back the next day for a further interview, this proved to be very informal and ten minutes after sitting down I was offered the job

This was over two weeks ago now. I was/am soooooo chuffed I can't wait, get a nice new freelander every few months too

for the last week or so I have been training up the guy taking over my business, we have a few days left next week then I start new job on the 26th!

It will be a HUGE culture shock for me, but I can't wait

For those who have it, my mobile number will be changing too as the old number goes with the business to the buyer, I will text everyone in my phonebook in due course

Just thought I would share that with you all ROFL

Depends which way you look at it really... I was 22 when I made plans to start up own business, it was up and running shortly after, as I say I never planned to retire still doing it.... I'm 28 now so still plenty of time left

Surely working for someone else is a lot less hassle though. And if he can earn a comparable wage it makes sense to have similar money and less grief.
Guess it depends if your boss is a Tosser

As for the the Range's. I dont really like SUV's but I could see myself in one of these.

Well Goodluck with the new job Damo. Im 110% sure you will do well in your new job because of some of the qualities which you have learnt from running your own buisness and building it up the trusted success it is.

I can tell from the help you gave me in buying my car (again a BIG BIG thanks fo that m8 ), that your the right person for the Land Rover job, You understand what type of people your dealing with almost as soon as you meet them and you see the whole picture and anticipate problems and questions before others do.

Well I wish you all the best with your new job m8 and hope you do really well with it and enjoy it.

p.s i dont wanna buy a land rover, sorry
