Best advert ever.
I often dress like that to drive mine and sometimes dress as the woman too.
What I like best about the advert is the way they've captured the throw of the type-9 gearbox and boaty handling.

I was actually trying to find the original UK TV ad at the time I found that one. Anyone remember that................?
Along the lines of "here is a car that can cruise at 2 miles per minute ...etc etc.."

I would love to see the original UK advert for the 4i.
Does it feature a skinny guy in a mullet and avaitors trading his Capri Laser in at the local dealers for this UK muscle car? Then going down to the local KwikSave carpark to race some Mantas? Does he talk about the way the nuclear melt down panel starts saying the oils low and his back lights don't work after the first 75miles of driving?
Since we're all posting pics of our 4i's.

Bumper was done by Moorlands classics up in the Staffs Moorlands. They had to call in a special man who does nothing else but Ford bumpers to spray it.

rear window is split to try and make it look like a ferrari did you not see that episode of topgear then?
technically the 4i is the BEST of the mk1 shells, it's the strongest etc. coz of that rear pillar.
looks SHIT tho

theres no accounting for taste, which I am about to prove by saying I like the look of the 4i.
I also prefer the look of the front end over the later nose/lights.
wasnt there quite a few alleged styling cues from other marques? not just that Ferrari one?
I digress, but a chap I used to work with claimed that his Renault Fuego *sp took its styling from the Porsche 924

Seem to recall that the reason for the split rear side window was that early three door Sierras (even the 1.3!) developed a slight habit of popping the large(unsplit) rear window out at motorway speeds. And as these baby's were more than likely to be driven in excess of 70mph Ford decided a little more structural integrity was called for - and, of course, it helped strenthen the shell!
