Sounds a bit strange mate. I take it when you say the red light you mean the normal Toad LED? The blue light sounds like an aftermarket light you get from Motormania etc (had one years ago) and i reckon someone has tried to plumb it into one of hte wires from the back of the LED. If it were me i'd be enclined to try and remove the blue strip thing carefully. If you still want it run it off the ignition so when the ignition is switched off it turns on (one wire to fused live, the other to ignition live (which switches to earth when turned off).

I have a TOAD with a similar thing on the windscreen. Mine doesn't even light up but it does make a quiet buzzing noise when it's set.


So i'd love to know what it is as well
