Calls for one of these ----> ![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
I had one of them days yesterday. I am happy to help out and "go the extra mile" at work - when the situation arises and the shits hit the fan, I often just offer my help, for example, to go out mobile (most of my work is fitting in the branch workshop, not mobile) and sort someone elses problem/fuckup out even working past my finish time to do so. Sometimes they ask me if I can sort the problem out, to which I usually reply yes. Bear in mind this is a REGULAR occurance, and more often than not I work past my finish time to get stuff done that needs doing - even if it could be done the next day, I try to get it all done before I go to make EVERYONE's life easier the following day. Note also I DON'T get paid overtime...
So yesterday, my last job was due in at 3pm. It's a big bastid truck windscreen that typically takes an hour and a half to do. Customer arrives an hour and 15 mins late (4:15pm) and I am due to finish at 5. You work the math out.
So I tell the boss that I won't have time to do it before 5pm, and her reply was "why not?" so I explained that they were a bastid to do, very high up (which means setting up, moveing around and breaking down platform racking). And she said "oh is a screen? I thought it was a door glass". No I said, it's a screen and I won't have time to do it.
Her reply was (to the customer) "do you want to pull it inside so we can get on it right away?"

I'm like -->
WTF?
The ONE time I need her to "get my back" with something, after all the times I have hers: help her out, stick up for her against the other staff, sort out her problems, save her money (for problems other fitters have caused, fixing them myself (for no pay) instead of her having to send it to warrenty dept) etc, and she can't even stick up for me.
She proper pissed me off with that. I did it, and fortunately one of the other staff heard and lent me a hand so we had it done in an hour instead of 1.5hrs, but it was still closer to 6 by the time I had sorted everything out and was ready to go home![Wall](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/wall.gif)
So I just chewed her out for 10 mins on the values of integrity and loyalty and how respect was a two way street, etc..... I then left quickly as I think I was about to make her cry

Know the feeling today
Am new in my job and keep getting 'help' off the guy sat near me - who seems to like cutting corners. Fair enough he's done this for 20 years but the way i do things is so you can see how i got to the end result
the things i've let him help me on keep coming back to me
![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
..and to add insult to injury i have just had to fork out for a stupid oil return pipe for my s2 which was 40 quid - even the Ford staff were embarassed to sell it to me

Rick, Roose were concerned they only rate the pipe to 200 degrees so didnt want to make me one in case it wasn't fit for purpose. Said i was better off with a proper Ford item
