as above really,

i recieved this thru the post this mornin and just wondered a few things

1. is it illegal to film,tape people without their knowledge
2. y can people not just knock on other peoples doors and talk to each other
3.how can playin football with ur children be classed as "anti social behaviour"

i regurlarly visit an elderly relative of mine who lives in ...... close and they have been telling me of rowdy games of football that are regularly played on the green in the close .There is a large sign that the council put up a few years ago that states "NO BALL GAMES" and is attached to the lamp post that is used for one of the goals.

My relative has no objection about young children playing games on the green but does object to older children and also men who kick the ball as hard as they can .some peoples gardens have been damaged and residents flowerbeds trampled.

there is a park opposite the close where nobody would be inconvenienced by these older boys and men if they ould be considerate enough to play there games over there.

I have spoken to the council and they have advised me to report it to the police and have an ASBO taken out on the offenders but i would like to appeal to those who are involved and suggest the hold their football matches over the park which is about 200 yards away.

when i have been visiting i have been making a video of the people involved so if nothing improves , i will be passin a copy to the police.

my children also play out in their swimming costumes, trunks and am now a bit worried about my children being filmed ,

just a bit of insight for all who read this , I have a son of 5 yrs old and the children around here range from 3 or 4 up to 9 or 10 now as an adult why would i be "kicking the ball as hard as i can" when playin with my and other small children ,

and as for the grown up games i may have my bro inlaw or friend come round on the odd occassion who also plays with me and the boys outside my house.

as all the parents dont like there children goin over there and im normally only out there for 20 mins or so when i am , i can understant wot the person is sayin just a bit pissed that ive recieved a letter about it rather than someone knockin on my door and saying could the grown up stop kickin the ball so hard or something , i think its a fukin joke tbh

He's had a letter dropped through his door.

He plays football on a bit of grass in his street (where it says no ball games.) There is a proper park across the road.

The person in the letter is moaning, and has said they have video of him doing it.

He wants to know what his rights are.

I do see where you are coming from mate, but some people don't like to confront people like that. They don't know how you will react, or perhaps even how they will react. Perhaps they know that if they talk to you they will get angry and start shouting etc. With the letter, they will stay calm.

It's a bit shit, but now you know someone doesn't like it, what are you going to do about it?

To be fair, I see where the guy is coming from, I have a 5 year old boy and we play in our street, I live across from a park, but very rarely use it as the local youths go there most evenings and things like broken bottles empty beer cans are a regular occourance, I dont live in a 'Rough' area, quite the opposite... But I don't really want to have to explain to him (yet) why they are there, and as the guy mentioned most parks are full of dog shit And to report the owners you'd hvae to virtually be there all day every day just to find out who they are...

As as I see it, having a kick about with a few 'young' children is very different from Youths/Adults playing footy.

And again if someone is that up themselves that they feel the need to video it, I doubt talking would make much difference anyway.

As for the ASBO, I don't know the in's and out's of them but i'd guess that the police would first go and speak to you about the Offence before one was issued.

maybe it's just a general letter that has been put thru all the doors in the area, and possably not even aimed directly at you? are there older kids/Adults also using that area?

at last a sensible reply, its a little close i live in with about 30 houses which includes a police officer and as for asbo in & outs thats kinda y i posted this thread to find out but no-one has gave any advise yet

Someone can't go round to everyones door and explain the problem though can they.

As far as I can tell the following has happened.

1. Someones relative lives on a road where no ball games are allowed but does mind the young ones playing.
2. Some older people have clearly been taking the piss.
3. This person has been told they can go get an ASBO put on those older people taking the piss.
4. Rather than do that they've asked politely, via letter, that those people go play in the park.
5. They have video evidence of those causing the problem and can get the ASBO actioned if they want.
6. Dogs shit in your park

What's wrong with that? Well appart from the dog shit.
