I got bored at the beach today so I did this!
I dug a deep hole! a very deep hole, The lifeguards told me I was being dangerous and children were copying me, but there's weren't as gooder holes though, and I think the lifeguards were jealous of my hole anyway. I'm very proud of it, but my brother had to lift me out.

arnt you a fire man lifeguards where right about it being
dangerous and other kids trying to do it.
if i remember last year someone else did the same thing
and died after all the sand fell in

should have covered it with a towel and bet lads to run over it and see what happened 
my bro did one when we were kids in pennar park only put a news paper over it and made me walk over it, i fell in and it collapsed the tide came in and i nearly drown but fook it was funny

I dug it with an oar from my dinghy! It is real, promise ya!I couldn't stop laughing when I dug it, but yeh, the Lifeguards did have a point, it gets a bit soggy in the bottom after a bit so you have to keep bucketing the sloppy sand out od the bottom. I wanted to take the hole home with me but my wife said it was so big it wouldn't fit in her truck!

Absolutely top holeage
I personally would have liked to have seen more people in the hole, sort of a multiple-person-hole attempt, but as holes go, excellent!

Artistic Endeavour : 7 (let down by the lack of sand distribution)
And a Bonus 3 points for facial expression
All in all, a very good hole.

the lifeguards where right what they said as i was on holiday last year and a 5 y/o dug a hole with her brother and it collapsed in on her whilst they where in it and people tried in vain to dig her out but unfortunatley she died and that wasnt a hole nowhere near as deep as yours !

I can understand the concern with holes, BUT and i may get shot down for this, but why is it when ever some one does something nowadays that in the past has caused an injury/death we have all the nanny state do-gooders coming out the wood work.
I used to dig holes when i was younger,
So did my pops
And his pops before him
Someone gets injured every day just falling out of bed,waking down the street,riding a bike, driving a car but we need to aknowladge(spl) these things as accidents.
We have just has a safety assessment at work, we have no machinery, no racking and no dangerous liquid but cos some fuckin idiot has to justify his job we now have to walk around the yard in safety glasses, hard hat, fire resistant clothing and have gloves on...Guess what i do......I'm a hgv driver............Who delivers signs for National Grid gas....
Because someone has had an accident don't mean you need to force over the top, knee jerk reaction safety views on the whole of the population....

i think the hole was tops i never dug one that deep!!
but as he says the life guards wernt happy about it as they know the dangers and i was mereley stating why the lifeguards were moaning!

I never thought we'd have so many "Holelovers" on here, this is great! We could all meet up at Santa Pod and bring our holes with us to look at, I might need to trailer mine though, due to its size. Has anyone else ever dug a hole on here, and if you dug all the way through the earth and the core wasn't hot, would you fall through to Oz and keep going to outta space?
