i dug a massive hole at the beach once when i was a young fella and then another one the same size as it about three feet away. then i tried to dig a tunnel between the two of them at the bottom and i did but it was too small and when i went though it i got stuck an all the sand over me started falling down. my mother an granmother had to pull and dig me out. they were crying an everything still some laugh though

I once dug a deep one like that on holiday as a kid - (wasnt as deep mind you) the lifeguard came over and told me that the previous year a kid was in it as the tide came in and in collapsed on him. He drowned in the end even though they had gone to get scuba gear so that he coulf breath underwater as they tried to dig him out.
Fun but make the whole wider and fill it in before you leave.
