I'm going to sell my S13 and get something cheaper to run and something thats reliable and not too bad on fuel. Get about 20mpg with normal driving on the S13. My budget will be between £1500-£2000
I'm not too sure on insurance groups for these cars.... (I think all the Fords are group 16?)
Clio 1.8 RSI
Fiesta RS1800
Fiesta RS Turbo
Escort RS Turbo
Escort RS2000 (Mk5 or Mk6 - would like a 4wd one)
Seat Ibiza GTI Cupra (16v)
Punto GT Turbo
Almera GTI
Golf MK3 GTI or VR6 (grp 16)
306 GTI-6 (grp 16)
Any other ideas?

Mates got a MK6 RS2k and he loves it.... He is 25, got 9 points on licence (IN10 and a couple of SP30s) and he only pays £400FC to insure it

mk5/6 rs2000 are grp 16 for deffo as i have 2
for some reason most people dont like the newer rs2k`s which is a shame cos they are very reliable, good on fuel, in your price range and more than able to surprise a few motors out there

R5's are unreliable if all the stories I hear are true. Also don't want a carbed car.
I think the RS2k will be my best option, only think that puts me off is the blandness.

Just been getting myself some insurance quotes for when I renew.
My S13 - £1088
RS2000 4x4 - £1200
Seat Ibizia - £800
Almera GTI - £800
Think that rules out a RS2000. Not paying more money for half the power of my S13.

Insurance is putting me well off an RS2000 (and any other Ford). I'm not paying over £1200 when my S13 is £1088. I also got quoted £1400 on an RS1600i - fuck knows why.
I got a nice quote on a Punto GT, just under £800. My mate had one and they are shite inside and his engine was shagged also, so i'm not sure if they are any good. Do they rot?
Maybe i'm being a complete plum here, but what are Rover 200 BRM's like (the ones with the orange grill)?

How old are ya mate? £1200 for a rs2k wft
Im 24 5years ncb 3 points I pay £400 for mine
There good reliable cars I use to run a 225bhp rst about as a everyday moto fuck doing that again 19mpg on a good day...
Ive just knocked up 80miles on a £15 town use too in the 2k
Id find a better insurance quote as that way too high
Try green light

I think i'd go for a GTi-6 myself out of your choices.
As much as i love the RS2000 as it fits the bill nicely they can be a bit of a rustbucket, the gti6 gives good handling, performance and a galvanised shell out the box.

I'd be getting a bit of a rough GTI-6 for less than 2k, i'd be a bit concerned it'd fall apart.
I'm 20, but got quotes for when i'm 21 (2 months time). Got 2 crashes agaisnt me and no NCB. I'm currently with A-plan and pay £1350 on my 200SX with alloy's, exhaust and suspension declared. Thats 3rd party fire and theft. The quotes i've got just now are also 3rd party fire and theft and are with Elephant.

Nah mate the going rate is 2K for a good GTI-6 now and is your best option by miles.... R2K nice but no where near as good sadly.
GTI-6 or the Rallye varient need to be driven to be appreciated...
