Hi all...dont know if this is in the right section (sos if not)

Got an xbox 360 today (core system) and i can only play the bloody thing for 5 mins before it just locks up on a screen!!! any body else had issues like this!!! Guess its fooked!??!!!

 

Not had problems myself but heard of others who have.

Take it back to the shop get it swapped.

 

Is it the same game it locks on at the same place? If so could be the game discs. If not take it back.

 

Can leave it on the main screen for hours...play a game and it locks up more or less straight away!!! bloody gutted...thing is got it free with one of these mobile phone offers gunna be a right hassle sending back ect...

could be the warm weather m8 i was playing tomb raider today mine did the same thing

had to turn it off lost all game saves

make sure console is well aired IE place it onto of a few cd cases not on the floor ...normally when they fook up you get the ring of death ..

green ring on the front turns red ...

Had it on the floor (carpet) lol..Like in last post went out to pub thought sod it will leave it on the main title screen see if it locks up, it didnt...soon as i went to play it boom locks up, machine did feel hot tho. Only got it today...

its so loud because the fan works overtime trying to suck in air to chill it

you want it at least 3 inches off the floor place the cd covers at each end of it ...might be ok ...

ALSO play it flat never on its side disks can fuck up

and never move it while a game is playing

cost me 40 when i moved the console playing oblivion

ate the outside of the disk major time

have a look in the computer room for my troubles

should of waited for ps3!!

 

all the points i can think of have been covered already, ive had mine 6 month and its been pretty good, a couple of freezes, thats about it.

and as far as the ps3 goe's, id stick with the 360 mate, bearing in mind the ps3 was meant to be out well before the 360, where now 6 months after the 360 release and sony still cant get the ps3 to work properly, they have endless amounts of problem's all the way through development, the next gen xbox will probably be out by the time sony sort the ps3.

 

Also before a game pat yourself on the head and click your heals three times all this shit for a major microsoft fuck up Roll on the PS3

 

How do you work that out? It may have been put back but the worldwide release is 17th November iirc. Roll on I say

how do i work it out ? from the 4 or 5 different interviews ive read from software developers who have endless amounts of problems trying to get there games to play on the ps3, im not pretending to be a console 'know it all' because im not, but ive had some sort of games console for aslong as i can remember, even back int the days of the spectrum and amiga, and the information ive been given and read has come from good sources. so now its the 17th of november for ps3 release, well considering it was meant to be released late 2004 or early 2005, where now in mid 2006 and its still not here, why you think this is, because sony want to keep the world waiting, or because they have had endless amounts of problems getting the thing to work.

i get auto updates on xbox live avid, and i agree, the ps3 should have no glitches, and is hopefully spot on when it eventually come's out, it should be the amount of time its took sony to develop it, ive seen short clips and screenshots of ps3 launch title's and it looks amazing, but i hope they dont have the issue's that the ps2 had when it came out, i bought a ps2 on launch day, and then had it replaced by sony 4 times under warrenty due to different things going wrong, but to be fair, a freind of my best mate works in the microsoft call centre, and he said they have had loads of probs with the 360, but mine gets used a lot, and ive had no problems with mine.

 

Tried it again this morning, raised off the floor ect, flat down...doesn't want to play ball so the fooking thing is off back!!!! Locked up straight away
