what made u want a rs in the first place? and y u pick the model u have?

good question,but i'd be a hell of a lot better off if i hadn't chosen an RS

first one was a S2 RST,what a shed that was

the whole RS scene is a good draw i suppose,and the ease of tuning and messing is good too!!

non rs owners don't understand it though,and think we're all mongs i reckon

oh and got a cossie cos i got the need for speed

I was brought up with RS's thtas what made me want one. The reason i bought my second cossie was it was cheap and i was bored.

I went to buy a Mk 16V Golf...........but was offered my S1 before I found a decent Golf..........simple as that !

I rolled my astra about 5 and a half years ago and got paid out twice as much as I paid for it- 1500 quid.




I too was looking at Golfs- namely MK2 16v ones.

I then saw an RS1600i (which I'd loved for ages- I always wanted an xr3 when I was young and when I saw one of those in Classic ford I knew I had to have one) in a garage by me for 2000 pounds.

I went in and took it for a spin- I told him I would pay 1600 quid for it- he explained I might as well have called him a cunt- so I did and said I would take it for 1600 quid or buy somet else.



So I got my first RS- and it lasted 2 years before falling well and truly apart.

Since then had 2xseries 2's and 2xcossies and a brief dable into a VR6 too.

The RS1600i is the only one I have no info on-

touring cars in the late 80's but i am a gypo so settled for a 3dr instead of a 500

I just remeber my mates RS2000, loved it to bits..

Then when the 3dr came out, i just wanted one

Its taken 20yrs but worth the wait

There is just something about them, i think its the following they have,
and when you see them out on the road, they just stand out from the crowd IMO.....

Even though i loved my 22b, and my FQ330..My 3dr is the best car ive owned

nearly got a red s2, don't think i was too bothered which RS, just an affordable one at the time, spent a lot of time at cruises and shows, just seemed a good option. It happened to be awfull on inspection, and with cash in my pocket i ended up buying a mk2 golf gti with turbo conv.

Few years later i eventually got a Fiesta Turbo when i wrote my Ashtray GTE off.

Now have a S1, as they are the most beautiful! lol

my dad always had and messed about with capri's and stuff. when i was a kid(?6?) watching spender, i remember sayin that id have a saff as soon as i could drive.i was proper devastated when they blew the cossie up on one of the episodes.

I just wanted something newer and nicer than my old five door gold Escort Ghia. Chap at work had this black S2 and I thought it looked awesome. 3 weeks later I was told it was for sale so I checked it out with my then mechanic and all was good and it came home with me

Ive always wanted a Series 1 since i knew what one was, the RS name was something me and my car interested friends/geeks threw about and spoke about and then i just read stuff abut fords/RS's/cosworth's and it snowballed from there, its taken years to be able to get one and then ages to find an S1 that was good enough (still not sure ive done it )

Will i sell it? hmmmm......NO!

always been into the RS's since i bought an Escort mk.2 for my first car, modded that a bit then got into having mk.2 rs2000's.

thats when i wanted a cosworth,they were the top of the pile in my eyes.

had a few saffs and then moved onto the escorts when i had the money.

i have always thought what attracted me to these type of cars as no-one in my family or reletives had these type of cars.

think the mk.2 rs2000's did it for me.

My sister had a few RS's when i was growing up,including some very tastey ones! Also my bro in law had a few saphs,a 3 door and an Escos so i had to follow in their foot steps!

Also i had an R5 Turbo and wanted a step up!

Always loved cars from an early age. My dad was going to buy an RS3100 Capri 30 odd years ago but he got me instead Always liked the saff cossie when they came out, managd to get a magenta one with leather just as I always wanted. Still got it over 4 years on

Old man worked for ford, went out in a 3dr and a series one when i was a kid, loved em...old man had S1, then a Saff loved em...
Since that ive had
3X Series 2's
1X 2wd saff
1x RS2000 4x4

Now i have a series one, had brief cars since them like GTI pugs ect...Just get drawn back to the RS's i love em...
