Default rs turbo guru's(fuel from manifold)**updated**

havin problems with my mates car, firstly we cant get it to start, disconnecting the grey plug on metering head lets it start but idle is very lumpy and its splutters when its revved, when we plug it back in it dies, what could cause this?fucked metering head?

secondly and this has me totally stumped, while cranking over to get it to start we're gettin fuel trickle out the exhaust manifold(where it bolts to head),how can this be?overfuelling caused by the metering head being fucked

the car was an xr converted to rs spec with everythin taken from a donor rs,we've changed the fuel pump to a saff 4x4 cossie one, surely this wouldnt make any difference to fuel?unless the metering heads fucked and letting too much fuel through

any help appreciated

Far too much fuel going in. When u disconnect the metering head plug, there is no enrichment from the EMFPR. It will splutter when cold. Does sound like too much fuel pressure. Try and get it warm without the plug on. See how it runs then.

we've already got it upto runnin temp with the plug off, pluggin it back in just makes it splutter to a halt, took plugs out today and 2 and 3 are soaked with fuel where as 1 and 4 are black soot

how do you turn the pressure down?would the addition of a cossie fuel pump have any affect on how its runnin if the meterin head is fucked

right changed metering head, now its not chuckin fuel out the manifold but it wont rev freely with the grey plug on meterin head, take it off and it will start but as soon as you put it back in the cars splutters and misfires when revvin
