Hi peeps just wondering what sized intercooler (number of rows) do you recommend for using on a zetec turbo engine that will be revving upto about 7500-8000rpm?
thanx for your help!

lol fair enough....i am also relocating the oil filter...does this mean in conjunction with the cooler, i will require ALOT more oil than the 4.2litre it will normally take?

will need a fair bit more, as the oil cooler will be full of oil too.
however, the idea is to keep the Oil at Around 80 Degrees or just above,
as this is considered working temp for oils in an engine
fit too big an oil cooler and it may over cool the oil, and this can lead to
problems in itself
unless you get it set up with a thermo-sandwhich plate, so the oil cooler
is only used when the oil is hot enough to need cooling

in all honestly the engine is not in the car....and the car will be used daily...the thermo plate is what i was considering using (anyone know if they are worthwhile for road and occasional track use?)
however when the car is on track...it will be used to its full and will be taking part on PLENTY of top speed runs
regarding space...ill need to have a measure up of where i can mount it, but wherever it is will have optimum air flow...either in direct air or with a scoop

quite a number of people have suffered with problems with oil cooling on zetec turbos as there is no cooling for the oil when putting the engine in an escort mk4...so i just thought i would stay one step ahead and add one before i do have any issues
