i though you only needed the hydraulic conversion if you were going the multiplate clutch route, surely the std cover with a alcon 6 paddle is fine for stg 3 and a box that wont go bang..?

so is it prudent to repace the std cable as a matter of course after 20-30K anyway to help reduce this..? i take it , as it stratches, its got the weight of the pedal riding the clutch not allowing the full pressure of the pressure plte to clmap the drive plate when engaged..?

My box went bang too and shite did it make me jump, was giving it some welly in 2nd up a hill and snapped the leyshaft, wasn't long after i had the new engine in so i cant see yours lasting Paul
Got mine done by a company near me, wasn't too pricey and its been totally sweet since, not that im expecting it to last much longer, but im careful not to boot it up hills or with 4 people in cos i know it may go again.

the conversion does sound helishly expensive for what it is though.... a master/slave cylinder setup... can this not be adapted from another vehicle for a fraction of the cost...?

always the case with ford owners this, spend Ł500000000000.000000000 on a new engine then crib about Ł500 for a clutch to take it
