Default Best way to remove a nut??

One of the nuts holding the coilover strut it pretty tight

cant use force as it just turns the strut shaft

cannot get anything above to hold whilst turning the nut

Will an impact driver/wrench do the job?

or can you get nut splitters?

any help much appreciated

can you hold the strut with one arm and turn the nut with the other??

nut splitters will work but shouldn't be no need, cos i doubt there rusted on your car?

I had this problem, If you get someone to hold the strut top with a cloth and some grips it stops the strut from turning, worked for me anyway.

I had one like this on my Fiesta Turbo and I found that if you put a spanner on the nut and wack it sideways with a hard rubber hammer it will effectivly give the same impact that an impact gun will and get the nut off

If it is use one of those little pen burners to soften the nylon. Will just slip off then
