Right I had bid on something on ebay yesterday and didn't win the item.

I receive an email with the item number, the description of the item and the supposed sellers email address and ebay user name which is totally different to the user name which was on the item I was bidding on. The email is saying that I can have a second chance offer but I have to mail him direct, email looks legit but I thought it a bit strange.

So I mailed the proper seller via the "you've been outbid" page where the auction is now finished and he knows nothing about it. Said the lad has arranged to pick it up tomorrow etc.

I have done a search with the fake user name on the email and there are two registered with the same name, one in UK one in United States and the one in the states has 3 feedback and all from the same person, one in the UK has a few feedbacks and nothing that rings alarms.

Any body got any ideas ? Got to be a scam.

It is sandard scam using a hijacked account, just ignore it.
