when you have a 4x4 engine in a 2wd car and they ask what year its for, then get all suspicious when you say "hmmm.... about a 1990"
or asking for ONE brake pad retaining pin and being told first of all that they dont have pins fitted to 2wd saffs (er...ill take you outside, take the wheel off and show you shall i?) and hours later finding that the only way is to buy a whole front brake pad set up for(wait for it) 90 quid!
oh that was after 2 weeks of searching, being told by halfords that all cossies have the same brakes and the same sort of answer from about 5 ford dealers!

i'm unfortunate to be using Roache Parts as this is apparently the parts depot and if i phone plymouth they tell me to phone roache, if theres no answer at roache i automaticly get bounced back to someone at plymouth..
I have to do everything over the phone as the local parts desk has closed.
- because of this you need a trade account to buy anything. if i didn't have access to a trade account i'd have to travel to another deal 20 miles away

I usually bring the the finis code otherwise i have to stand there and suggest were on the pictures they should look for it. Bit sad that some parts are not serviced any more. The hinges for the glove box on the 4x4 sapph for instance.

Have no complaint about my local Ford dealer.
Last Weds I ordered a few things via the phone at 8:20am, they rang me at 2pm to say the parts were in. Also I got discounts between 12˝% and 25% on the parts, so a saving of over Ł21.

my local dealer is brilliant, they usually have to order the parts in which is fair enough but they always get me what i need and give me a bit of discount too.
what car is it?
1990 Ford Escort
What do you need?
a 1995 Escort clutch pedal and quadrant and a Cosworth fan switch
What year Cosworth is it?
Between 1985 - 1995 you choose.

never have the parts in and then they have to order the parts in which turn out to be the wrong ones and you've waited a week for these parts to then be told that they had the correct part in stock all along grrr
