as if im stupid enough to let it run out
as for weight, like im really bothered how much a gallon of water weighs when my cars already weighs over a ton

Still wouldn't use it personally as a det prevention, but the F1 cars did when they were running 50psi boost . So as long as you have some sort of warning or contingency (safe map)?

why fit WI when you can fit a bigger IC that weighs far less than water!
if that weight doesnt bother you why is your car stripped of interior?stop talking shite like you know everything just because you pay to race your car occasionally.

However, I am with you on the fact that I wouldn't EVER use it in a road car as an anti-det device.

Agreed 100%
I found out to my cost on one melt down when the jet got blocked
due to the hard water in my area and resulted in my pistons melting
this was because the engine was mapped on its limits while water
injection was being used.
Should have been mapped then the water enabled

i dont need it to prevent the car from detting at all, the only reason i use it, and the only time i see it in use is after the start of a stage for approx the first 10-20 seconds, as sometimes we have to que waiting for arrival times/start times, this leads to escalating charge temps, then the iginition retard that i dont want on the stage start to a rally , the water sorts it very nicely

dont be a fookin knob all your life pal, and just because you race your little pocket rocket on the streets doesnt mean you know any more than me pal

I use water injection on all my cars as a method of ACT reduction at high temps. This is because it is the better of two evils, and allthough it costs power, it costs less power than the resulting ignition retard if we dont run WI.
The only exception is my own 3dr which runs a huge IC and charge cooler as the ACT's simply do not go more than 5 DegC above ambient even when held at 2+BAR for long periods!!!

Hi
use it on mine but use Methanol mixture not water.
The Autronics controls it over 40c CA & 10psi. At Brunters recently it showed 43c with it on & 56c when pump was not working, both after a 200mph run.
To show how effective it can be, at totb 1 the pump packed up & it saw over 60c CA & recorded a Topspeed of 174.6mph, a few weeks later, unchanged except for a new pump we ran 183.26mph, at the time a RWD record. Difficult to get to 'come on' on the road its a must if you wish to hold the throttle flat out for an extended period.

when you find info on the net its 50% bullshit and 50% we want to selll this bullshit to you det prevention ect .I was wanting it for cooling but unsure of really how to set it up , and now with good sound advice once again from here ive got a good idea
cheers jay

i fit this to my series two along with a large fmic which was a bit pointless tbh as act's were already very low.So...im removing the kit next week so i can fit it to my ibiza cupra as its got a rather pathetic intercooler and im having a remap after my audi tt turbo arrives but then there's a possibility of flow prob's with standard intercooler
i'll just bolt it up and strap it to a rolling road and see what happens

Run water injection on my Audi S4, This Aquamist 2D kit.

Stand Alone Kit, Runs off boost and reads the PWM signal from the engine's fuel injector.
