RS JON Has any one else been ripped off?
Has anyone else been ripped off by this idiot? I gave him £220 for some ST170 calipers, discs and pads and 5 months later still nothing?
I know his postal address but does anyone have his phone number?

Ive heard he has ripped a couple off people off? I just want to see if anyone has his phone number before i have a little trip over to the isle of white

Good! People like that deserve to be banned.
I know im probably never gonna see the money again its just the fact he thinks he can rip people off and get away with it.
Im gonna have to run my new engine in very soon so a few extra miles to the isle of white wont hurt! lol

The only real way to prevent fraud on open forums is to require anyone who wants to buy and sell to put a valid credit or debit card on account here and for the mods/admin to make sure only these people can advertise for sale.
Unfortunately, it requires a lot of hard work on the part of those who run the site and there's very little reward for it.
The Gold Membership system is ideal for this, although I don't think it requires a valid credit/debit card on account...? (i.e. you can just pay cash/cheque/PO for your membership), which means it's not possible to trace people this way.

Use paypal as it registers everyone - your protected as a buyer - sellers beware though as unless you send items signed-for the buyer can get a automatic refund even if they say they haven't received the item when in fact they did.
Name & shame would also be a good idea but ppl would just register under a different name.

i agree that there should be a room where people can post up their good or bad opinions so long as they are factual and can provide proof ...
i think it would be a benifit for the whole board .. however as it has been proven before there is always 2 sides to a story .. and the one who posts it up doesn't always give a 100% version of the truth...

If you have his name, address and some proof that you bought the goods, i.e. bank statement etc. why don't you just sue the turd in the Small Claims Court. It is very p*ss easy to do and will cost you buttons.
I never go the route of claiming from ebay, paypal or whatever ....... just take 'em straight to court

I must be the only one who has had a good dealing with John. I bough a L8 off him when he was breaking his white saph & sent it before the cheque had even cleared.

I did anage to speak to him and that is the right number for him.
He said that his ex girlfriend has got all his parts in her house and wont give them back! Thats why he cant send them. He said he's gonna try and sort the brakes out but i dont think he will.
He could'nt belive that i had managed to get his mobile number. Thanks to Jock!
But its not a bad idea maybe ringing the old bill and seeing if they can sort anything out. Because at the end of the day what he is doing is fraud. And he deserves his cumupance.

Personally, I think an Escrow service would be best. You want to buy something off someone on here, then you pay into the escrow. The seller does not get the money untill the item has been delivered.
This would mean everything has to be sent recorded/signed for delivery, but it would stop peeps being ripped off by rogue traders....

£75 boat ride + 200-250 miles of petrol for a waste of time.

He paid her this money on saturday afternoon and cleared his shed out, she has none of it!!!
I think stu will vouch for me that I would not make this up. The usual thing for john to do is to forget to post something, ignore the buyer and then sell the item to someone else!!!

I'm afraid rs john replied on the wrong forum, he did log in and i'm sure he meant to sort this out, but I expect he got side tracked while he was sending me nasty texts and driving up and down past my house and later past his ex girlfriends house

I posted on the site because people are seriously thinking the only way to get any answers and satisfaction is by paying you a visit.
