any people who know about the law
i have just got an mr2 turbo form my mate. it has no engine in it and it needs to get 2 miles from his house to mine.
would it be illegle for 10 of us to push it. the car doesn't have tax mot or insurance yet.
but as it doesn't have an engine in it is it illegle.

It can't be on the road if it doesn't have any road tax mate, the moment the wheel touches the tarmac they can have you :-(
I'd be more inclined to tow it sharpish, with someone who's insured 3rd party at the wheel, you might get away with that a bit easier...

That way the worst that could happen is no MOT or tax, both non endorsable offences

If that's what you are leading to, check the small print in the policy, it probably states that cover is only provided if the vehicle is otherwise insured by the owner or registered keeper.
Would be too easy otherwise, you could insure 10 cars on a single policy (albeit third party)

If you have to have someone inside to steer (and brake if it had any) then its a car and normal tax etc rules apply, engine or no engine
If it doesn't need anyone inside then its a trailer if towed behind a car, no tax etc required, as if it came loose and did damage the car insurance would cover it.
If its not towed I don't know where it fits in, who pays if it wanders off on its own?
