well ant that somthing yip! thought this was an ford club all you guys just waiting to help the wee people like me on there mission to re ignite the passion of escorts and such like!

Seriously, buying an ebay resistor hasn't helped your case. If you wanted to get 300bhp out of that engine it would cost serious dough and you'd need to replace just about every component. You'd be better off buying a second hand 2.0 Zetec as your base, but if your bet with your mates is dependant on your using that 1.6 then it would be cheaper to just pay up.
