RS Turbo Valve springs.....
Other than the obvious ones (Kent, Piper, Newman etc), what other uprated valve springs are available for this engine??
Anyone know anything about the Puma Racing ones? I can't seem to get hold of the guy as his email address always rejects my mails and I would quite like to deal with someone that wants to be dealt with!
Any help appreciated.

Puma Racing Spring setup:
Different seats and completely different valve seals.
I never had any problems with the setup, obviously any CVH with hydraulic tappets will start losing power at about 6500-7000, and that camshafts get eaten at these revs is a well known fact.
Best to ring up, he's a helpful chap, but very busy, and I'm sure he gets loads of questions about the articles he wrote, so probably doesn't even look at emails at all.
Before looking at other springs I think it would be better to get some roller rockers made up, there have been threads about them many times but nobody seems to want to make them. Maybe ask Titan nicely. I'm sure it would also be possible to get a roller tappet and cam done, I know of someone running something like that over here, he seems to have cured the cam problem.

Also, looking at that, is he not just using a lighter (and perhaps more commonly available spring) and increasing the poundage with a thick base washer?
I can't think of any other reason for using that washer/seal method?
I want something that has slightly higher poundage than the Newman doubles.

So at wot Rpm are the double springs suffering valve bounce??
as i'm going over to double springs ASAP, but no point if gonna have same problem.
i'm only running a Kent 36 kit, but it wont rev past 6300rpm in top

In my experience, with Kent and Puma valve springs, you are still going to eat cams at continuous high revs. I did about 4-7 laps a day of the Nordschleife, 2 times a week, after 1/2 a season power dropped, due to wear on the exhaust lobe of cyl. 1.
The only guy I know over here, who does not suffer from cam wear, runs Titan roller rockers, and solid roller tappets - revving to 9,000 - for over 8 years now on the same cam!! The car is purely for the track - an RS1600i.
My old CVH revved to about 6500 before power dropped off, on anti pumps. TBH it was about the same with standard tappets.
