had ours done, and to drop the kerb adn reinforce the payment for it to be driven on, the company that has to do it has to have £10million per claim insurance and a street licence or something.... the cheapest on in our area ( being that there were only 10 at the time ) did leave much change from £1000

I work in partnership for Hertfordshire County Council and vehicle cross overs as they are called are put in by the council (or its sub contractors) for about £500. They don't just sling in a drop kerb they also put the required foundations and bits in required to take the weight of a vehicle this invariably includes digging up and relaying the footpath that is crossed as a footpath isn't built with taking a motor vehicles weight.

For the work involved in doing a vehicle cross over properly the price is very reasonable

Sure it is around £1k.

Mates road had some builders round doing a couple od drop kurbs, knocked doors up the street and offered to do theres cheap while they were there, people were out smashing their walls down, the builders never came back, must have got rumbled

Another mate had his drive done and the peeps that did it then did a few more in the street, that was until the old bill came along and siezed all the truck as they were knicked. I left it a few days and called him pretending to be the old bill and explained that the materials used had been stolen and that his drive would be uplifted as evidence

Round here in Leicester think it was £450, work done by the council- 6 kerb stones width. Not too bad I suppose if you REALLY need one?
